Oh Knot Me

Look, try it, won’t you? It’s just like a relationship. Comes with strings attached!

Any opinions/experiences/suggestions?

She’s right. It’s as comfortable as wearing nothing at all. Odourless. Plus we dont have to see the red in glory everytime we pee! Go for it 🙂

Thank God those days are over for me
I chuckle at your quandry with great glee
    Our home-made ones were horrid
    Especially when flow was torrid
Try everything in Life once, is my fervent plea!

I tried a couple of times but didn’t find them too comfy. But considering what everyone else says, I might just not have used the right technique. So I’d link to hear other opinions too 🙂

I love tampons. Before I used them, I used to have to sleep on newspapers so as to not stain the sheets. Not anymore, sister!

Use the ones with the applicators – they’re super easy to insert.

What? I seem to be the only contrarian here. They don’t work for me.
Till now, it’s been Whisper Ultra XL with wings zindabad!

    Good luck 😀

Pros: EXTREMELY comfy. Feels like any other day. You can wear whatever you want. More convenient to dispose of. More convenient to carry around.

Cons: A tad bit uncomfortable to fit in initially… Especially when you’re at work. Takes a little getting used to.

I’d say give it a shot.

😀 very funny. I totally swear by it.

  12. Pallavi October 4, 2010 at 10:03 am #

Please try. I find them very convenient. It feels a bit odd wearing ’em the first couple of days. But once you’re used to it, you’ll never want to use those wings-things again!

Everyone: Thanks for your feedback. I’ll check with my gyn. One last question: what are the chances of an infection? Has anyone among you ever reacted badly to a tampon?

  14. Pallavi October 5, 2010 at 10:01 am #

Nope. Three years (with http://www.obtampons.com/en/index.jsp), and no infections so far.

  15. the mad momma October 7, 2010 at 2:27 am #

ugh. not for me. no non-living thing going in there, thank you.

  16. Meira October 7, 2010 at 8:00 pm #

@OJ: 5 years , no infection. smooth sailing

    @TMM: Really? Tsk tsk 😉

  17. Sue October 8, 2010 at 12:31 pm #

Am flirting with the idea myself. Esp because I’m told one can go swimming with tampons.

Tell you what ‘Jam, why don’t you go first and depending on your feedback I’ll try to draw up the courage. 😉

Oh I must share this: Some years ago, my mum found a couple tampons in our holiday home and flipped at the thought of a piece of plastic popping her precious daughter’s cherry, never mind that I happened to be living on another continent at the time. 😆

And yeah, very funny, Sue! 😛

I’ll keep you guys posted if I take this up (up/in?) in the future.

  19. Sue October 9, 2010 at 12:08 pm #

    Oh good.

  20. Nimpipi October 14, 2010 at 4:56 pm #

Heh. tampons = life savers. OB zindabad. Once I needed desperately to buy a pack and my boyfriend asked me, do you have to buy a whole pack or can you get them khulle, like classic milds?

    Aquarians say the darnedest things.

  21. Orange Jammies October 20, 2010 at 3:23 pm #

Sue: 😛 No, wait. Again: 😛

Nimpipi: But he has a point. Why don’t they comes as singles?

  22. kenny October 21, 2010 at 1:30 pm #

    great for sports, i like.

  23. Orange Jammies October 25, 2010 at 10:26 pm #

kenny: But in what way do sanitary napkins hinder play? 😕

  24. the mad momma November 8, 2010 at 10:59 am #

so did you try them yet? i’ve tried and realised i just dont like the knowledge of strange things living inside me. nothing to do with discomfort or infections. just dont like ’em on principle. and i’ve played games and done pretty much everything but swim with regular pads. and its not like i swim every day..

btw – they make your period a day or so shorter i am told. have experienced it too. that freaks me out because i like to keep track of the dates etc.

  25. Orange Jammies November 8, 2010 at 12:29 pm #

the mad momma: Eeps. 😕 Really? I wonder why that would be the case. Must check with my gyn. Haven’t tried them yet. Too much else going on.

Here's a bar of chocolate. Now talk to me. :)
