Today, I feel like badgering you.
Nudging and goading with a metaphorical paw,
Being the empty-houred hausfrau of K serials
Who churns up excitement from chewing-gum-stretchable time.
…
Today, I feel like badgering you.
Knocking on your inbox with a loud “anybody home?”
Sewing up our togetherness in neat herringbone stitches
Gleeful and smug at having you alone.
…
Today, I feel like badgering you.
Ignoring the tables, the flowcharts, the sheets,
Twirling around the house, gathering your scent in my skirt,
For release when your geekmind packs up for the week.
Lovely… lots of “oxford prospect words” there too… Geekmind… i like that…
i`m back! And dad`s been doing quite ok now. Thanks for the anniv wishes. We`re planning a quiet holiday along Lake Superior. That should be super fun. Has life returned back on track in Mumbai again?
The poetry, the OJisms…. ah, your blog is addictive….
Merry Christmas and a very happy New Year to you.
‘Twirling around the house, gathering your scent in my skirt’ : beautiful poetry, OJ.
This is beautiful!
Couldn’t help but show you the following excerpt from Kim Addonizio’s “You don’t know what Love is” :
“…this love even sits up and blinks,
Amazed, she takes a few shaky steps
Anyday now, she’ll try to eat solid food,
She’ll want to get into a fast car, one low to the ground,
And drive to some cinderblock shithole in the desert,
Where she can drink and get sick and then dance in nothing
but her underwear…
You know where she’s headed,
You know she’ll wake up with an ache she can’t locate,
and no money, and a terrible thirst.”
…not on the same table, i know, but still 🙂
grimescene: You see, my Boy, he has a totally delish geekmind that I like to occasionally nibble on. Yummy!
Piper: So glad to hear about your dad. Have a peaceful holiday and congratulations again! To an untrained eye, Bombay seems like she’s back to business, but we her people know she’s shaken and still catching craggy breaths.
Nitya: I should try it in place of my chocolate fix. At least it’s calorie-free!
Nino’s Mum: Ahh, just a few scribbles really. 🙂
ink and olives: I loved that! Thanks a whole bunch for sharing. 😀
Wonderful as always, oh madam wordsmith! Each time I read a poem of yours I can’t help but hope thatone day there will be a compilation of this waiting to be snatched off the bookshelves all over the country!
your fridge-magnet christmas tree is up on my blog. you are most welcome to come by and collect it!
Have a great christmas OJ, You’ll be in my prayers! hugs.
M4: …so I’m jailed for verbal torture? 😉 No, no, I’m just fine hiding behind this blog.
Nino’s Mum: MY tree? MYYYYYYY tree? 😯 What the hell, I’m coming over to collect royalty! Thank you for praying for me. Bear hugs back and a very merry Christmas!
