Laydeez and Gennelmen…

16 Sep

…may I (insanely proudly) present to you….

ADELE!

adele 1

Black Beauty doesn't have a thing on her.

No daughter of mine is ever going to match those waifish looks.

Look the other way now!

Look the other way now!

Now, now, no stampeding, boys and girls. Go git your own.

And no, that’s not two extra pounds I’ve put on since she arrived. It’s called being chuffed.

M4: Coolth! 😀 They don’t make the Inspiron 12-inch ones in any color but black, unfortunately. I was hoping to snag a rich burgundy. (At least a color, if not a man, right? 😉 )

M…: Umm…confession: I’m running a bit dry presently. Have rediscovered the pleasure of 3 books a week.

the rained-in girlfriend: I don’t know what you’re talking about. I’ll see you around the corner.

Sunshine: She’s skinnier than a cracker crust pizza. And so easy to tote around. I’ve seen the red studio 14. It’s gorrrrgeous. 🙂

I have the same one in 14 inches. And ditto abt Dell not making it in royal-blue (which I wanted soooo badly that I almost threw a tantrum at the store 😉 )
    Enjoy your new Lapwanti

Is that a touch-screen stylus? Or just the usual accessory not part of standard equipment Mont Blanc pen?

Too bad all we have are the drab, brick-like Lenovos from office. The price you pay for a free laptop 😦

Take good care of Adele. I assume that’s the name… or did I miss a nuance there? 😉

  9. Orange Jammies September 17, 2009 at 11:05 pm #

Meira: *proudly preens like she popped her out.*

    Shivani: Not Lapwanti, Adele! 😯

Vidooshak: Not a beat. She’s Adele and there’s nothing to it. 😛

Mine’s name Yvonne. (Yvonne the second to be precise, but what the hell).

Yvonne sends loving bleeps and blinks and much binary code to Adele 😀

Dewdropdream: Ooooh, we could organize a playdate! And they could go shopping together! And devour brownies! Okay, must stop. See, this is why I’ve held off on having daughters. 😉

[…] Then it occurred to me, what if someone really was looking for a poem for their 9-year-old? What if they searched and browsed and scoured books and the WWW and were disappointed not to find it here? And because I’m nothing if not a bleeding heart and carrier of guilt about everything from the loss of a Palestinian homeland to the crisis in Kashmir, I arrived at a decision. “This child shall have his poem!” I cried and stood up with righteous purpose. Quickly realizing that it’s easier to write in seated position, rear end made contact with couch, and I hammered away at faithful Adele. […]
