This is not a black and white picture. The ambient lighting makes it appear so. It was taken in regular scenery mode, less than 5 seconds before the storm broke over our heads. I have put it up in celebration of our first day of rain today, the latest arrival in a decade.
Could you please, OJ, send some here
The sun, indeed, still does sere
You’re getting better
With that shutter
Cheers to that with a chilled beer!
Oh when, oh WHEN will the monsoon hit Kolkata!
Beautiful!
Better late than never. Although here, it feels like it’s never.
That’s a beautiful picture of Storm.
There’s a similar picture on my blog too.
*claps* Brillianto!
Indeed a fitting tribute to the much-awaited latecomer.
P.S: love the new watermark 🙂
Aunty G: I have a better suggestion. You come here. That way we’re both happy. 😀
(P.S. The picture was taken two years ago.)
Suki: I wouldn’t ask the Met department, hon. Random bloggers might be more accurate predictors.
M4: Aww. 😦 I know how that feels. Hang in there!
Solilo: Thanks.
Shivani: Yeah, I’m pretty kicked about that watermark myself. 🙂
Wow!
And do please send some watermarking gyaan my way, pretty please.
ohhh i loove the pic! 🙂
the rains the rains the rains the rains the rains!!!
ooh 🙂
Ahh finally! has been pouring in NYC while I hear everyone back home complain and now it’s here 🙂
no rain…no rain…no rain…not even today, on ‘Rath’ day which’s supposed to be the day when it inevitably rains. no rain…here in kolkata. lovely photo and the watermark which blends nicely with it.
So it finally rained! Hitting Bombay tomorrow for 2.5 days. Glad to know it will be a break from this furnace called Dubai. Lovely photo.
nice photo..i miss the monsoons
wordjunkie: Sure thing.
Sunshine: Thank you!
errormsg!: I know. 😀
girlonthebridge: Somehow Indian rain is different, don’t you think? I always found rain in the U.S. vaguely disconcerting. Too concrete, for lack of a better term. It didn’t have that familiar warm, whooshing quality of good old Bombay rain.
pri: Thanks, I hope you get some condensation!
Thinking Cramps: Oh yay. 🙂 Welcome back.
sukanya: None where you are?
i miss the indian rain-just like you described in your answer to girlonthebridge- the warm whooshing quality!
i live in Washington DC.
Awesome picture, OJ.
Yes, desi rain is different!
sukanya: Ah. Nice city. 🙂 Hope the metro collision didn’t cause any damage.
dipali: Thanks, Dipali. At my International House in the U.S., my dear friend Riet couldn’t stop laughing at the “strange girl who loved the rain”. I’d try to drag her to the park every time it drizzled.
